Reviews and Ratings
The hotel had clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated rooms but lacked a requested bath; however, it was large and airy. The service was welcoming and friendly but fell short in fulfilling some requests. The location was fabulous, offering easy access to various places with wonderful views over the valley. The dining options were fine but could have been more varied. Overall, it was a mixed experience with positives and areas needing improvement.
My stay at the hotel was a bit challenging due to the chemical smell in the room that persisted throughout my entire visit, likely from a recent fumigation. On the upside, the top-floor room offered a unique vantage point, albeit requiring a climb of 3 flights of stairs. The highlight was the luxurious lounge with a cozy fire, creating a welcoming ambiance right at the entrance of the hotel.
My stay at the hotel was delightful. The rooms were tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean, providing a cozy and warm atmosphere. The service was exceptional, with the staff, especially Alison, Steve, and Andrew, making me feel at home. The location was ideal for exploring the beautiful Northumberland coast and enjoying riverside walks, although it was a bit out of the way from the town center. The dining experience offered high-quality local produce, but there were some minor inconveniences in the setup. Overall, a great value for money option with friendly service and prime location.
